PictoMatch, a game reminiscent of the classic Concentration memory card game, is a quick-flip matching game to recall duplicate images to score points, with the skill levels determined by the player’s choice of the number of images in each round.

Leveraging Getty Images’ high-quality imagery with a unique application to broaden their position in the growing mobile entertainment market, Robotube Games developed this universally appealing game concept, utilizing an engaging look and play value. With image theme packs comprised of wild animals and house pets, PictoMatch provides mobile customers an interactive experience that they have come to expect from their mobile devices. PictoMatch is currently offered on Cingular Wireless, the nation’s largest wireless carrier.

Dennis Peters, Chief Creative Officer of Heavybag Media, said, “When Getty Images approached us about their ambitions to go mobile, we agreed that the company had a tremendous variety of visual assets to develop compelling mobile games. With the depth and breadth of Getty Images’ collection of imagery, we knew that a mobile game developed by Robotube Games would be an ideal outlet for their image library and services.”

Jason Cirillo, creative director of Robotube Games and lead developer for PictoMatch, said, “The creative energies on both sides resulted in a very appropriate eye-appealing, skill game that is fun for the consumer. Getty Images’ PictoMatch is a great example of a company at the forefront of a tremendous medium.”

“As the mobile content development unit of Getty Images, we selected Robotube Games to develop compelling and interactive uses for our imagery,” said Brooks McMahon, vice president of new products and platforms at Getty Images. “PictoMatch offers users a great experience while opening new revenue streams for our company.”

About ROBOTUBE GAMES:
Robotube Games was founded by Cirillo in 1999. As an online game developer from his apartment in Tokyo, Japan, it was when Cirillo teamed with Dennis Peters, founder of New Haven, CT-based Heavybag Media, that Robotube Games was able to establish itself. Heavybag Media provided the infrastructure to support Robotube Games as the company expanded from online content to the mobile platform. In exchange, the growing distribution channel from Robotube Games’ library provides a creative extension to the interactive marketing programs that Heavybag Media can offer to its clients. Robotube Games offers games through carriers as well as a direct-to-consumer portal for download of its mobile games. The Robotube Games’ catalog features 28 online games that are enjoyed by over 200,000 unique visitors a month, as well as 18 mobile games. Robotube Games employs a service to allow direct download to consumers regardless of wireless carrier. By inputting a cell phone number, consumers can receive a text message link to a secure site for the purchase and direct download of any mobile game in the Robotube Games catalog. The cost of the game can be paid by credit card or added directly to a wireless bill. Users can also visit Robotube Games directly on their cell phones to shop for mobile game titles.
