Entrepreneurs, Do You Know What You Need to Succeed?

Queens, NY August 30, 2006 — The Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC) is now enrolling entrepreneurs and small business owners into a 10-week 60hr Entrepreneurial Assistance Training Program course.The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program (EAP) offers training and one-on-one consultation to help clients successfully conceptualize and prepare a professional business plan, learn about legal infrastructures, business taxation, how to apply for commercial and alternative business financing, as well as how to access venture capital and angel investor funding. The class is designed for both the budding and established business owner who operates any type of business – from modest home-based operation to sophisticated enterprises.
“There are many people who possess the entrepreneurial drive and desire financial and creative independence, but are unsure of how to get started”, states Business Services Director Paisley Demby. “We walk them through the process and give them a foundation for success.”
The Open House is scheduled for Monday, September 11th 2006 at 6pm. Classes will be held twice weekly on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm to 9pm.beginning on September 19th through November 28th. All training and consultations are conducted at the QEDC training facility located at 120-55 Queens Blvd., Kew Gardens, NY 11424. For more information visit www.queensny.org. The course fee is $325 with a $50 refund after successful completion of the course and submission of a completed business plan. Scholarships are available to qualified clients within New York City.
The Program’s successes to date include:
• Graduating over 700 clients from Queens and the New York City metro area, resulting in more than 400 new businesses and thousands of jobs since 1991.
• Assisting our clients in receiving over $6.2 million in business loans since the inception of the program.
EAP is funded by a grant from the Empire State Development Corporation of New York.
