Leading Manufacturer of Portable Public Address Systems Appoints New Director of Manufacturing

TORRANCE, CALIF.—In advance of the busy fall season, Anchor Audio, Inc., the industry leader in portable public address systems for over 25 years, announces the recent addition of personnel to facilitate lean manufacturing and improve operations that better serve the company’s customer base.

August witnesses Craig MacRae’s welcome to the Anchor Audio team as Director of Manufacturing. He will report to Janet Jacobs, Chief Operating Officer. MacRae is formerly with M/A-COM, a division of Tyco Electronics, in Torrance, California where he was Sr. Project Manager. During his tenure Craig saw company growth through improved manufacturing techniques with an end result of improved gross margins.

During the past six months Anchor Audio has installed surface mount equipment and also met RoHS compliance specifications while keeping up with the demanding sales of products across the board — from the portable sound system line array Beacon to the patent pending PortaCom Pro wireless intercom system. Tony Morgan, Director of Quality Control, says, “We all look forward to working with Craig. He brings experience in many production areas and all with the lean manufacturing philosophy.”

Each portable sound system is built for users with no technical knowledge. Anchor’s portable public address systems are battery or AC powered and capable of covering crowds up to 5,000 — indoor or out.
