Queens, NY – 1st Annual Family Community Festival for 24/7 Child Care Learning Center to take place on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 127-22 Hawtree Creek Road, South Ozone Park, NY.

On Saturday, August, 26, 2006, from 2-7pm, the First Annual Community Day, sponsored by It Takes A Community To Raise A Child, will be held Saturday, August 26, 2006. This event will be held at 127-22 Hawtree Creek Rd in South Ozone Park.

Founded by Susan Samuel in 2003, It Takes A Community To Raise A Child, which specializes in around the clock care, officially opened its doors on June 29, 2006.
Ms. Samuel believes that “We live in a city that doesn’t sleep why should our child care sleep.” Samuel conceived of this new concept in childcare to address the specialized needs of working parents. In addition to offering traditional day-care services, the organization also maintains a social service component designed to support the needs of parents. According to Cinque Joe-Franklin, whose child attends the center, “I don’t know what I would have done without this service. This has truly enabled me to work.”

Local business leaders, clergy, and politicians have been invited to attend. Confirmed attendees include Assemblywoman Michelle Titus, Councilman Thomas White Jr., Assemblyman William Boyland, Jr., political candidate Shirley Huntley, a representative of Rev.
