Triangle Business Journal Honors Karen Ross With
Women In Business Award

RALEIGH, N.C. – Karen Ross, president of Montgomery’s Florist has been honored by the Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle's top women in business. Ross is one of 25 women to receive the award recognizing their business accomplishments in the Triangle. The award ceremony occurred at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel on Thursday, August 10 from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.

“I am proud to receive this award in the company of such inspiring women,” said Ross. “The growing power of women-owned businesses greatly contributes to our economy and I hope my experience will influence others to stake out their own success as leaders in business.”

About Karen Ross:
Karen Ross, a Rocky Mount native, is active in a number of civic and charitable organizations. Formerly President of the League of Women Voters and Vice President of the Junior League of Raleigh, she currently serves on the Inaugural Ball Committee that honors the newly elected Governor. Karen volunteers with the Boys and Girls Club of Raleigh, United Arts Council, and Building Together, and participates in the South Central Wake County Branch of the NAACP and the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood Development. She is an active member on committees for Prevent Blindness, Special Olympics, Theater in the Park, Aldert Root Elementary, March of Dimes, YWCA’s Academy of Women, Visual Arts Exchange, Learning Together, Triangle United Way, Rex Classic, Wake County Fraternal Order of Police, Museum of Natural Science, Raise a Racquet Against Breast Cancer, and Communities in School of Wake County. Most recently, she was appointed to the Board of Advisors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and has sponsored the Pinnacle Awards and two Executive Women’s luncheons at the Chamber.
