CINCINNATI, Ohio, August 25, 2006 — Members of the Bethel-Tate Firefighter Association will be working the streets to fill their fire boots with donations to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Firefighters will collect donations from passing pedestrians and motorists at a specific intersection on August 26, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.As MDA’s national sponsor for 52 years, firefighters will collect donations from passing consumers at the corner of Plane Street and Angel Drive, in Bethel. This will be the first-time “Fill the Boot” for the Bethel-Tate Local 3412, a member of the International Association of Firefighters.
Funds raised by the firefighters give MDA, a voluntary health agency, the means to continue providing direct services, research and professional and public health education to
children and adults with neuromuscular diseases in the Greater Cincinnati Area.
Free medical services are available at MDA’s clinics at the Aring Center for Neurology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Children’s Medical Center for individuals diagnosed with any one of the 43 neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA.
