SEDONA, AZ – The Sedona Conference®, a nonprofit law and policy think-tank based in Sedona, AZ, announced plans for its Eighth Annual Sedona Conference on Antitrust Law and Litigation to be held at the Hilton Sedona Resort on October 26-27, 2006. The international faculty includes a member of the Federal Trade Commission, a federal trial court judge, leading members of both the plaintiff and defense antitrust bars, and experts on domestic and international antitrust law and economics.The central topics of the Conference will be issues relating to international antitrust enforcement and the current direction of the U.S. Supreme Court with respect to domestic antitrust enforcement. Using the unique dialogue-based Sedona Conference® approach, faculty and participants will address such topics as lessons from the recent Volvo Trucks, Dagher and Illinois Tool Works Supreme Court cases; the future of U.S. antitrust enforcement efforts by the government; the future of U.S. private antitrust litigation; international enforcement issues; private enforcement internationally; significant differences between domestic and international enforcement efforts; the extra-territorial reach of the U.S, antitrust laws; international enforcement in the pharmaceutical industry; the reach of abuse of dominance laws; and immunity and leniency claims.
