Ballantine Features DAL Investment Company in Direct Marketing Case Study

The Ballantine Corporation's June 2006 issue of their Sample of the Month newsletter featured DAL Investment Company's successful test of a magalog mail piece. This issue featuring DAL Investment Company talks about how DAL mailed a 9x12 package in January of 2006 to promote their family of mutual funds. In an attempt to consolidate everything into one mail piece, the issue then goes on to discuss how DAL tested a magalog in April of 2006, also promoting their line of mutual funds.
"Based on our experience with the 9x12 package", indicated Jeff Smith, Marketing Director for DAL, "it's surprising that people won't remember the cover of an envelope, nor read more than the first printed piece of a mailing. By including all the important components in one mail piece - the magalog - we felt we'd get better brand identity and recognition."
Initial response tells Mr. Smith that packaging everything into the magalog worked as completion of the included reply card was higher than in past mailings. DAL will use the magalog format for future mailings, but will continue to test different formats as well.
