Orlando, FL. – The American Safety Council partners with Dr. Jack Weaver, creator of the Driver Performance Analysis System (DPAS), to bring the most trusted and reliable driver selection and training system used by more than a thousand companies. With ASC’s proven success in driver’s education and Dr. Weaver’s expertise, many years of experience and commitment to driver safety make the partnership a winning combination.
American Safety Council, Inc. and its affiliate organizations have provided educational courses for state regulatory agencies and court systems for more than ten years. Through several operating divisions, the American Safety Council offers a diverse line of products and services, including state approved traffic safety education, safety related training, continuing education for regulated professionals, in addition to self-help, non-credit and pre-licensing education. ASC has utilized its experience in delivering defensive driving courses in the classroom to produce the nation’s first Internet-based presentation of defensive driving courseware that was determined to be an effective countermeasure in reducing recidivism by course attendees in the areas of violations and crashes. Dr. Jack Weaver holds an M.S. in Educational Psychology from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in Psychology (with emphasis in driver behavior) from Florida State University. Dr. Weaver has held administrative positions with the Automotive Safety Foundation, Texas A&M University, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Driver Education Demonstration/ Evaluation Project, and Safe Performance Associates, Inc. In addition, Dr. Weaver has produced driver testing/training video programs for Safe Performance Associates, the State of Florida, the State of Texas, Kawasaki Corporation, the American Association of Community Colleges, Shell Oil Company, AT&T, and the Advanced Driving Skills Institute. He has served as an advisor to the National Association of Governors’ highway safety representatives, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the American Trucking Association, the U.S. Coast Guard, Aetna Insurance Company, the governments of Australia, China, West Germany, Saudi Arabia, American Samoa, and the states of Texas, Montana, West Virginia, California Florida, Georgia and Colorado. Dr. Weaver is also the past president of the American Academy of Safety Education, and has served in leadership positions with several professional organizations including, the American Driver and Traffic Safety Education Association, the National Safety Council, the Transportation Research Board, the Florida Alliance of Certified Traffic Schools, the American Association for Automotive Medicine and the Alliance for Traffic Safety.
