Art Street Team launched to change the world. And have artistic fun

The street team will plan art projects online and then members all around the world will be able to be part of huge synchronised art performances and events.

‘Nothing like this has ever happened in fine art before,’ said lead artist P*L. ‘We are enabling a whole community to function in a way that is new and very exciting.’

As well as intervening in their local communities as part of worldwide projects, members of the street team will be able to contribute to a podcast of artistic views, news, rants and raves that will be broadcast over the net. ‘We have over 600 subscribers to a small poetry podcast that conceptTshirts produce, so we are expecting huge levels of listeners to the street team podcast. This is a way for everyone to get their views and ideas across.’

Collaboration across the world will allow images and slogans to suddenly appear everywhere – and just as quickly disappear. Artists and non-artists alike can be part of a new and exhilarating project. ‘The potential for this Street Art Team is absolutely huge and I am very excited about leading it,’ P*L said. ‘Without the internet this sort of world-wide art project / community would be impossible, so thanks to Sir Tim Berners-Lee and the US military of course!’

The project is completely free and open to everyone, whether artist or not. ‘All that is required is an interest in art and a desire to see something new and exciting appear!’
