KICK OFF FOR THE LUPUS ALLIANCE`S 13th ANNUAL “WALK ALONG FOR LUPUS”

The Lupus Alliance of America LI/Q Affiliate is pleased to announce that their 13th Annual “Walk Along for Lupus” will take place on October 15th at Eisenhower Park, Field 6, in East Meadow. Registration starts at 8:30am, rain or shine. Over 2000 participants are expected for the 5K walk and for the festivities that will include, lunch, clowns, face painting, the USA Skateasauras, live music, the NY Islanders give-a-way van, Greg T and the Z-100 Prize van, and a special raffle to win a handcrafted fully furnished dollhouse, which will be on display at the walk!

Last year the Walk Along raised over $232,000, 90% of that money is raised by individuals and teams made up of local families and schools. The Walk Along for Lupus is the most successful lupus walk in the country that not only supports lupus research but also supports the individual with lupus as well. This year, pre-registered teams that raise more than $300 before 9/25/06, will receive signs with their team name on them that they can proudly display as they walk. Teams will also receive pre-packaged lunches for every member of the team!

The Walk Along for Lupus raises money to help those with lupus live better lives while searching for a cure. Please help the Lupus Alliance continue this tradition by joining the Walk Along for Lupus on October 15th, and help ease the pain of someone who has lupus.
