Millo Designs to Present Couture with a Latin Flair in New York City

In September 2006, the elegance and luxury of Couture Fashion Week in New York City will be the backdrop for a spectacular runway show of the latest collection by Colombian designer Millo for Millo Designs. The fashion show is scheduled to take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, 7 September 2006 at the West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street, New York City.


Entitled "Renaissance", Millo's exclusive couture collection is characterized by a modern and glamorous style inspired by its wearers: cosmopolitan, confident, fashion-conscious women. The beautiful designs are rendered in sensual chiffons, silks and organzas with embellishments of pearls and crystals. The color palette is dominated by earth tones of bronze and green, with ample use of jet black, gold and silver. Palazzo pants, evening columns and asymmetrically cut blouses are comfortable yet distinctly chic.


Millo first discovered her passion for fashion design when her sisters and friends, unable to find distinctive and fashionable clothes, turned to her for solutions. This led to the founding of Millo Designs which has been successfully operating in Cartagena, Colombia for over 20 years.


Millo for Millo Designs has participated in the most important fashion events in Colombia, including Tendencias (Trends), the Colombian Designers Association fashion show; Colombia Moda in Medellin; The Marlene Henríquez Collections in Bogota where she received the Fabricato Award for best design; and Caribe Moda, one of the most important fashion events in the Caribbean, where her presentation received a standing ovation. In 2006, Millo Designs participated in Expo Moda, a Colombian annual fashion show held in the United States. Participation in these prestigious events has allowed Millo Designs to obtain national market placement and recognition as one of the most distinguished fashion design houses in Colombia for casual clothes with exquisite class, elegance and creativity.
