Wenlan Chia launches Twinkle Yarn Chunky weights and bold colors for the creative knitter

Over the years, Twinkle has built a cult following amongst knitters, fashion lovers and sophisticated shoppers who appreciate unconventional takes on the craft. For years, clients and fans had been asking for Twinkle Yarn, particularly in chunky weights. In conjunction with the introduction of Twinkle Yarn, February 2007 will mark the publication of Wenlan’s first book, Twinkle Big City Knits, featuring thirty-one original Twinkle patterns. The majority of these designs are made exclusively with Twinkle Yarn. Wenlan explains, “Over the years, we have received an overwhelming number of requests for Twinkle Yarn. With my first book being published next year and knitting becoming more and more fashionable, the Twinkle Yarn launch seemed inevitable!”

Soft Chunky yarn will be light in weight and supple to touch. Its spin was developed to make chunky sweaters look less bulky and give them a cashmere-like softness. Kids Mohair appears in extraordinary shades such as icy blue, coral, dusty rose and silvery lavender. Wenlan founded Twinkle after her handmade chunky knit sweaters caught the eye of stylish New Yorkers on the street as she strode to classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her ability to combine advanced knitting with fashion forward ideas made the craft hot again.
