Cybercaster “indieSpot” hits the spot for MTV Wannabe’s

Dallas/ August 09, 2006
Members of the popular Georgia group, Purely Coincidental had no problem attracting fans and local followers to their gigs. Hometown heroes are a dime a dozen. But like most hit makers who start out a la garage, exposure outside the box is a commodity, and an appearance on star maker MTV, BET and others is afforded mainly to…well… stars.

It’s purely “Not Coincidental” that the group turned to Cybercaster indieSpot for national exposure. By way of its premiere program, The Michael Zavala Show, indieSpot showcases aspiring musical artists, bands and of course their music en masse to millions of internet and iPod users.

“It’s a great way for independent musicians to be heard by wider audiences all over the place”, says Purely Coincidental leader Shane Wilson. “The Michael Zavala show has definitely provided a helpful forum”.

Every week, Zavala features a singer or band, allowing the artist to talk about their music and to plug their websites, appearances and other information. The one hour comedy talk show also features celebrity guests such as Aly & AJ, Jamie Kennedy and KyleXY’s Matt Dallas among others.

Picking up where legendary star maker Dick Clark’s American Bandstand left off, Zavala says, “There are a number of diamonds out there in the music industry—indieSpot and The Michael Zavala Show are just there as an outlet for more people to see their sparkle”.

The show is played around the world on websites and on internet radio stations. Listeners can also download via Podcast networks and www.myspace.com/themichaelzavalashow.

Artists and bands can send their materials to indieSpot via the myspace URL or the shows website at www.themichaelzavalashow.com.

Like the artists he showcases, Zavala is himself trying to build a wider audience for indieSpot, inviting media into his studio to “see the making of a hit maker” and to tell listeners where to find (and support) America’s best new artists.

indieSpot currently touts an influx of unique hits (new music lovers signing on for the first time) to its website. “An increase in our unique hits will hopefully translate into a bigger fan base for these potentially hit songs produced by these deserving artists”, says Zavala.
