ANGELS WHISPERERS, a poetry book filled with love and emotion

Fairfield, CA—August 7, 2006—Jerome Atputhasingam, a recent graduate of Fairfield High School, has published a thought provoking poetry book tackling one of humanity’s greatest sought after treasure: Love.

Angel Whisperers presents a collection of thoughts exploring the layers of emotion normally defining the human condition. As the title suggest, the author frequently incorporates a spiritual approach as he considers the people and experiences that may have influenced his perspective over a period of time. Highlighting qualities relating to identity, belief, and love in various forms, the book touches upon diverse challenges one might find in a sometimes-uncertain modern society. Much of the work focuses on the processes typically underscoring an effort to find, keep, or reconcile the fading bond with another person. Near companion pieces “Angel in the Night” and “At the End of the Day” opens the volume, describing a feeling with the capacity to transcend what may be viewed as traditional boundaries of space and time. Other entries such as “Pass the Flame,” “Road,” and “Emerald,” posit the importance of setting and reaching for a goal. From the pain that would coincide with loss to the strength that may come through a moment of introspection, Angel Whisperers covers a range of themes and scenarios. The book marks phases of one’s own journey as well as provokes thoughts for the reader who may be following a similar path.

Jerome Atputhasingam started working on the book at age fifteen. His writings are simple and to the point as he strongly believes love is a universal language that can only be revealed clearly through simplicity. His inspiration comes from day to day people who he encounters.

Being born in the war-torn country of Sri Lanka, Jerome Atputhasingam learnt what love meant, even when the world around him seemed to be falling apart. When he was 11 years old, he immigrated with his parents to America. Although writing poetry was never one of his goals, his life experiences inspired him to put his feelings down on paper. He has won Editor’s Choice Awards and has published several poems in poetry anthologies produced by the International Library of Poetry and American Poetry. Now he lives in California, and will be attending a four-year college next fall.
