A Quick Sale research reveals moving fees are adding over an average £13k to the stresses of property selling

Research from property purchasing company, A Quick Sale, has revealed that costs from estate agents, legal fees and additional mortgage payments while waiting for a buyer, adds an average of £13,633 to what is for many, a very fraught and anxious time. While the costs involved with selling is a major concern for a lot of people, when the decision has been made to sell a property, the last thing a homeowner often considers is coping with the chain breaking (http://www.a-quick-sale.co.uk/chain-breaking/ ) of an endless stream of potential buyers traipsing through their home, offers being withdrawn at the last minute and problem agents.
According to research from A Quick Sale (http://www.a-quick-sale.co.uk/ ), more than one in three (37%) people consider selling a house to be an expensive and time-consuming process and more than one in two (56%) people aged 45-64 have become frustrated when selling in the past.
Richard added: “With the average house sale through an estate agent taking around six months, this can create a long and anxious wait.“
The research shows that one in ten (11%) sellers have had a house sale fall through in the past and of those, almost two in three (59%) have been unable to buy their perfect house because they lost their buyer.
Not only that, but one in three (32%) people admit to being on tenterhooks during the selling process as even when they have an offer, there is no guarantee that it will complete.
Richard added: “The uncertainty which surrounds the whole process of selling a home (http://www.a-quick-sale.co.uk/how-to-sell-a-house-quickly/ ) is often what people find most stressful. The constant worry is often a real burden which can start to affect people in other parts of their life, from their job to their social life.”
According to A Quick Sale, one in five (20%) people fear dealing with estate agents and find the process of selling mind-boggling.
Richard commented: “Selling property is a stressful enough time for most as it is, but for those who need to sell their home to get themselves out of financial difficulties (http://www.a-quick-sale.co.uk/financial-money/ ), the situation can feel much worse. Threats of court if you find yourself in arrears on mortgage repayments added to the stress of dealing with estate agents, your solicitor and viewers could make the situation seem a hundred times worse.”
