State College, PA, August 3, 2006 — AccuWeather.com today announced the launch of a broad set of improvements to its free weather web site. The enhanced AccuWeather.com makes a greater variety of detailed weather content more accessible for site visitors and provides improved navigation and search capabilities.

“The steep increase in online traffic we’ve experienced in recent years illustrates the global online community’s growing fascination with weather information,” said Jim Candor, SVP of New Media for AccuWeather, Inc. “As the leader in online and offline weather, we are pleased to give users more of what they want – detailed, breaking weather information and local forecasts made easier to access than ever before.”

Improvements to content and navigation focus on bringing the most popular weather content “front and center” and making specific content easier to find. The AccuWeather.com home page highlights breaking weather, news, weather video, and a variety of radar and satellite maps. The forecast page features exclusive AccuWeather formats and indices such as the AccuWeather.com QuickLook™, Hour-by-Hour Weather™, The Exclusive AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature®, and AccuPOP™ precipitation forecasts. And an improved navigation and a new site-wide search function makes it simple for users to find what they need.

Surveys of user reactions to the new site indicate that the enhancements have significantly increased ease of use, design and layout, and content and functionality.

“The site improvements are one important step in the many new offerings we have in store for our online customers,” said Candor. “By listening to customers and through a process of continual improvements, we will continue to grow as The World’s Weather Authority™® and as the weather source of choice for online users.”
