To celebrate her song “Skin” being featured on the upcoming Females on Fire II compilation on Warrior Girl Records, singer/songwriter Laura Bradley will perform two shows with label founder and Warrior Girl extraordinaire Gilli Moon and other Warrior Girl Music artists. Bradley will be featured at the living room concert series at the Talking Stick, 1630 Ocean Park Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA on Thursday, August 3 and at the Females on Fire 2 album launch party at the Ten20 Club in the Bel Age Hotel, 1020 North San Vincente Boulevard, West Hollywood, CA on Saturday, August 19.Bradley was a featured performer at May’s Independent Music Conference in Dallas, TX. Toni Koch, in her review of Bradley’s performance, said, “Miami's Laura Bradley walked gracefully on stage and with her sultry, soulful voice laid bare her soul with songs of love including her track, ‘Skin’, which will be included on Females on Fire II. Listening to Laura sing is like sitting near a warm fire on a Sunday evening after a beautiful weekend with your favorite friend or lover, watching the crackling flames, being at peace, knowing you're in a safe place and able to ride through any Storm.”
“Laura's music is textured on her cd Storm with full arrangements and band, but being solo with guitar tonight showed the artist's essence as a songwriter and courage as a performer,” continued Koch. “A gentle spirit, Laura's lyrics tell stories of personal growth while appealing to the audience because everyone can relate…Laura, is an ethereal being ‘spreading her fairy dust’ as one of the industry reps mentioned at IMC 2006 [while] listening to her music during one of the conference panels.”
With Storm, Bradley creates a singular pop sound that is haunting, languid, lush, and in places, cleverly amusing. Evocative of Sarah McLachlan and Amy Lee of Evanescence, Bradley's classical three-octave range has a pop sensibility all its own as she performs an anthology of her poignant stories of love, loss, and longing.
Storm, as well as Bradley’s Anthems compilation, featuring national anthems of numerous countries including her native Canada, was released digitally on June 26, 2006. Bradley’s latest project is the recording of a classical CD, featuring renditions of “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “Ave Maria,” and “The Prayer.”
Bradley is offering fans a free download of her single “Skin” when they sign up for her mailing list on her website www.laurabradley.com.
