BANK OF AMERICA JOINS THE FIGHT AGAINST NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASES

FT.MYERS, Fla., July 28, 2006 – Bank of America employees in Lee and Collier County raised
$8,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association with their ‘Send A Kid to Camp’ campaign.
Bank associates from over 50 branches rallied together for a good cause. During the month of June, with the support of friends, family, and community members, Bank of America of Southwest Florida participated in their first ever MDA fundraiser. With encouragement from Senior Vice President Ken O’Donnell, each branch strived to raise $600. This amount sends one child to MDA’s summer camp for children with neuromuscular diseases, ages 6-21.
“We are extremely grateful to Bank of America for their enthusiastic support of MDA. This is the making of a long-lasting community partnership between MDA and Bank of America,” says Marty Moorhead, District Field Representative for MDA of Southwest Florida.
The top fundraising branch of Lee County was the Golden Gate location, raising $600 and the Fifth Avenue location of Collier County raised over $2,000. All funds raised remain local to benefit children and adults of Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades, and Hendry counties served by MDA. Services such as clinical visits, support groups, and equipment repair are available, free of charge, to individuals affected by more than 40 neuromuscular diseases.
Bank executives from the Lee and Collier county locations will present a check to MDA Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Bell Tower branch. The presentation will take place at private reception held on the 2nd floor at 9 a.m.
