ST. MARYS (Ohio) FIREFIGHTER ASSOCIATION TO HOST GOLF TOURNAMENT BENEFITING MDA

DAYTON, Ohio, July 27, 2006 — Members of the St. Mary Firefighter Association will host a golf tournament to benefit the Greater Miami Valley Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The firefighters have invited other departments to join them in a game of fun and fund-raising at Northmoor Country Club in Celina on July 28 beginning at 10 a.m.
As MDA’s national sponsor for 52 years, firefighters will be collecting donations from registration of the over 20 golfers from other local fire departments. This is an annual event for St. Marys Local 3633, a member of the International Association of Firefighters. Last year, the firefighters raised more than $1,200. This year the firefighters hope to raise even more.
Funds raised by the firefighters give MDA, a voluntary health agency, the means to continue providing direct services, research and professional and public health education to
children and adults with neuromuscular diseases in the Greater Miami Valley Area. In addition,
MDA is able to provide a summer camp tailored to the needs of children, from age 6 to 21, with muscular dystrophy.
