Russell Bedford International appoints Legcon Group as correspondent in Azerbaijan

Russell Bedford International has announced the appointment of Legcon Group as its correspondent in the Republic of Azerbaijan, giving the worldwide accounting and consulting network its first representative office in central Asia.Legcon Group was founded in 1997 initially as a provider of legal services to organisations in Azerbaijan. In response to client demand, it has now expanded into a multi-discipline practice providing legal and financial consultancy, audit, tax and investment advice, and project promotion services.
With offices in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, Legcon provides services to both domestic clients and to international businesses investing in Azerbaijan. Among its clients are one of the leading local banks, the Ministry of Tourism, the Russian airline Aeroflot, a London-based insurance company and a Norwegian sub-sea services company. Its most important client sectors are banking, insurance and telecommunications.
The managing director, Turgay Huseynov, is a lawyer and a professor at Baku State University, Faculty of International Law & International Relations. He was educated in Russia and was a partner in a Russian law firm before joining Legcon. Turgay is also Deputy Editor in Chief of the Azerbaijan Law Journal.
Other key personnel are: Samir Babayev (Head of Legal Department); Altay Jafarov (Licensed Auditor and Chief Financial Consultant) and Kamran Huseynov (Finance and Investment Consultant).
The partners speak fluent Russian in addition to their native Azeri. Several of the firm's professionals speak English. Some also speak Turkish, French and Polish.
