CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS LAUNCHES PORTAL FOR ARTISTS CRAFTSPERSONS AND DESIGNERS

In an endeavour to address the needs of the Art, Craft and Design fraternity, CReative EXpressions launched a web portal recently.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Ajay Mahajan, the Managing Director of CREX, the company launching this portal said, “CReative EXpressions is the only common platform across Art, Craft and Design. It aims to be the single largest resource pool of talent and knowledge, in addition to being the largest virtual gallery. A gallery that showcases works of the Artizens- the citizens of the art world, belonging to every nook and corner and empowering them to bring their untapped talent to a global level. Being Internet driven, the platform extends across international boundaries and aims to give a common identity and voice to the creative fraternity. The portal is complemented with a host of services specifically designed to the needs of artists, craftspersons and designers. We have plans to utilize technology in a big way help give these people and their works an access to a scope that crosses physical boundaries, giving them an identity, an organised space, and also enabling distant mentoring and possible access to 'Art Gurus'. It aims to complement this effort by arranging for additional development services such as small value loans, vocational scholarships etc. thereby ensuring our credo of sustaining livelihood through arts.”

The portal incorporates 49 art forms presently, a list that is slated to grow in the future. “We are not only providing a virtual space to the Artizens, but also doing our bit to promote them through active publicity and events. We hope to attract buyers and appreciators to contact the members onboard this portal directly,” explained Ajay Mahajan. In addition to providing the space and services that address various needs of the members, the portal also provides consolidated information on these art forms.

Also on display at the venue were the paintings of Md. Ferozuddin, the doyen of the dying Indian art of miniature Mughal paintings, a 400 year-old heritage.
