Would you spend $19,000 a year on lingerie?

£10,000 a year on lingerie is an expensive "hobby", some might say obsession, but 7 women interviewed in the Daily Mail admitted to spending that amount on underwear. That is about £800 a month, every month!

Designer underwear featured high on this groups list of lingerie purchases with Agent Provacatear, Rigby and Peller and La Perla all high on their lists. Bra and matching knickers in delicate lace, chemises, to basques and corsets featured on the shopping lists with single items of lingerie costing up to £800.

While these ladies may all be high earning professionals ranging from TV presenters, through marketing consultants to a lingerie buyer the average women does spend more on lingerie. Whether for a special occassion such as a wedding or even just a big night out the underwear has to be just right too.

The average lingerie purchase is over £70 with bridal lingerie purchases averaging over £100. There is no doubt that underwear is given as much consideration as outerwear.
