Masons in Pondicherry are now set to upgrade their skills through an initiative of Dalmia Cement. In an innovative move, the company has started mason training programs. The training is conducted by Dalmia Cement’s technical team. The programme covers following points:
1. List of stringent quality measures followed at every stage by Dalmia Cement to provide lump-free quality cement.
2. The correct ratios of cement, sand, blue metal and water to be used for different applications.
3. How to avoid micro-cracks and achieve superior finish.
4. Addressing masons’ queries related to building construction.
After an assessment of their skill levels by the technical team, Dalmia Cement certifies the masons.
Explaining the need for this certification Mr. Deepak Thombre, Senior Executive Director - Marketing, Dalmia Cement said “Customers are increasingly looking into all aspects of construction. Today’s consumer is as much involved in the choice of cement brand and structural matters as he is in the aesthetics of his dream home. However, he has not got a scientific way to evaluate the skills of masons, who are central to the quality of construction. We believe that the Certified Mason Training program will go towards fulfilling this need”.
“As a thought leader in cement, it is essential for us to innovate and value-add to consumers” he continued. Apart from fulfilling a latent need, the company, through this program seeks to instill best practices in Masonry and civil work and achieve a better quality of construction.
As part of this programme, Certified Masons will have access to Dalmia Cement’s technical team on a regular basis. This will help them build on their existing capabilities and fine tune their skills further, thus enabling them to translate their customers’ dreams into reality.
