OVERVIEW OF FINDINGSTop of the league and best site overall was Britannia (www.britannia.co.uk). At the bottom of the table, representing the poorest site overall, was Bank of Ireland (www.bankofireland.ie).
1.1 Website Function
3 sites were error free this month and 8 sites had 10 errors or less. The site with the highest number of error occurrences was Coventry Building Society (www.coventrybuildingsociety.co.uk) with nearly 3,000.
1.2 Website Compliance
Accessibility – 2 sites scored 100% and 18 sites scored 90%+ on the automated tests looking at the requirements of Priority 1 (A) accessibility. 3 sites had less than 1% compliance when tested against the mandatory requirements for Priority 1 accessibility.
HTML – The site with the lowest number of warnings [HTML standards compliance within the requirements laid down by W3C and IETF] was HFC Bank (www.hfcbank.co.uk) with 4. British Bankers Association (www.bba.org.uk) had the poorest HTML, with over 70,000 failures.
