Toronto, Canada (PRLeap) July 12 – After the dust settled on a whirl of over 40 comments contributed by veteran voice actors, seasoned voice talent, and career voice professionals, a new standard rates sheet has emerged for the voice-over industry called, The Voices.com Standard Rates Sheet.
In a blog post on VOX Daily, one of Voices.com’s official company weblogs, talent were invited to rate the current non-union standard rates as created by the company in previous years as a resource, providing advice on which rates needed to be raised or added to better reflect the wide spectrum of voice-over work available.
Union and non-union professionals made their thoughts and opinions known about the hot button issue of what to charge for their voice-over services. The majority concluded voice-over is a product and that the price for non-union voice-overshttp://www.voices.com/documents/Voices.com-Voice-Over-Rate-Sheet.pdf should be on par with the rates of unions such as AFTRA and SAG. Many agreed that non-union talent who demonstrated the same skill level and talent as their colleagues in the union should be the compensated equally for their work.
VOX Daily editor, Stephanie Ciccarelli says, "The conversation was vital and a learning experience for many. Whenever a client needs assistance budgeting for a voice-over or a voice actor wonders what they should be quoting, they will find the answers they are seeking on the new Voices.com Standard Rates Sheet.”
