DON’T BELIEVE THE ANTI-HYBRID HYPE
July 11, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
As the global warming clock is ticking, Hybridfest 2006 offersAmericans the chance to learn the truth about hybrid electric vehicles from actual hybrid owners,
based on thousands if not millions of miles of driving experience.
Recent articles in newspapers and magazines have cast doubts upon the effectiveness of hybrid vehicles. Yet there are hundreds of thousands of hybrid owners whose real-life experiences contradict those assertions. Who should the American public believe—a reviewer who is only able to drive a vehicle for a few weeks or months, or an owner who has driven a vehicle for several years and
thousands of miles? The facts may be inconvenient for some, but are vitally important to Americans making decisions about supporting new technology, saving money, or helping the environment through the vehicle they choose to drive.
Hybridfest 2006 will be held in Madison, WI, on Saturday, July 22, 2006, from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M., on
the grounds of the Alliant Energy Center, as part of the Dane County Fair. More than 100 hybrid vehicles from all over the U.S. and Canada, as well as all 11 “current” models of hybrids, will be on display. General Hybridfest activities are free and open to the public, with free parking. Attendees will be able to:
• test-drive hybrid vehicles
• meet auto dealers
• listen to industry and environmental experts
• talk with hybrid owners
• see one-of-a-kind vehicles like an EV-1, a diesel hybrid SUV, and plug-in hybrids
• experience the very newest models of hybrid electric vehicles, including the Saturn VUE Green Line and the Lexus 450h sedan
Additionally, Hybridfest attendees who register by July 12, 2006 ($25 fee), will have access to special
activities such as:
