RAWSISTAZ Literary Group holds Book Club and Author Conference in Charlotte, NC

The RAWSISTAZ Affair 2006, sponsored by the RAWSISTAZ Literary Group, is an annual face-to-face reunion/gathering with online and offline book clubs, authors, readers, and other literary friends. This year they will celebrate 6 years of of service to the literary community and will hold their annual event in Charlotte, NC., the "Queen City" of the South on September 8-10, 2006.This year's theme is "Hanging with our R.A.W. Brothaz." RAWSISTAZ will be paying special tribute to male authors. Tee C. Royal, group founder, says “With so many negative depictions of black men in the media, we just want to show the Brothaz a little love by letting them know we are proud of them, we support them and we appreciate their contributions to the literary industry and also in our communities.“
Keynote speakers are Vincent Alexandria (www.vincentalexandria.com) and Earl Sewell (www.earlsewell.com). Alexandria is the coordinator of Brother 2 Brother African-American Male Literary Symposium, a yearly event focusing on the importance of literacy and reading within the community. Earl is a regular mentor at various schools across the U.S. and shares with students the importance of writing and the numerous types of career fields for writers. Both are seasoned writers with a strong foundation in the literary industry.
There will be an additional 15+ authors (male and female) speaking on various panels, roundtables, and book club discussions.
