Lancashire’s glitterati will be out in force at an Oscar-themed charity ball, organised by leisure entrepreneurs John and Vicki Morphet, to raise money for the British Red Cross.Vicki Morphet, marketing director of Pure Leisure Group, will host this year’s charity event at their Milnthorpe home on the 8th July 2006 in the annual fundraising extravaganza.
Sponsored by Lancaster’s prestigious jewellers Banks Lyon, North Lancashire and the Lake District’s exclusive suppliers of Cartier watches, the charity ball includes a much anticipated charity auction.
Hosted by Hollywood star Emma Samms, who famously played Fallon in Dynasty, and more recently appeared in UK drama Holby City, the auction promises to be full of true Hollywood glitz and glamour.
Highlight of this year’s auction is an exclusive Cartier Pasha watch, donated by Banks Lyon, and guaranteed to give some Hollywood glamour to its wearer’s wrist.
Vicki Morphet commented: “The Red Cross is a fantastic charity that enables people from around the world to cope with natural disasters and conflicts and helps them to recover and move on to rebuild their lives.
“We are very excited about the ball and are positive that people will be as generous as possible for such a vital charity.”
At last year’s James Bond-themed charity ball, Pure Leisure Group raised a massive £12,200 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
