NEW YORK – (July 5, 2006) – Forget the inter-city rivalry between “Bean Town and “the Big Apple.” The soulful voice of singer-songwriter Lisa Meri has all the bases covered and is hitting the nation’s top digital entertainment websites for the first time. Starting now, fans will be able to purchase and download selections from “Full Circle,” Lisa Meri’s compilation of material recorded or remixed by the artist in the past three years and released by her label, Aquatarius Records. The public can quickly and easily access this eclectic, genre-bending mix of jazz, rock and pop — described as a tapestry of human experience, — on iTunes, Sony Connect, Verizon VCast, eMusic, and Musicload. Meri’s music is also available at Starbucks locations throughout the country.
A versatile vocalist, guitarist and composer, Lisa Meri’s music has been featured in major outlets including the DVD DAWSON’S CREEK: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON. Additionally, her work has been heard on various radio and television spots, as well as commercial campaigns for such companies as Southern Comfort and TV programming on Manhattan Cable TV.
Lisa Meri started formal music studies at the age of nine when her grandfather gave her a violin. Two years later, Lisa swapped the violin for a guitar and never looked back. Her career as a performer began at age 15 when she was hired to sing and play cover versions of other artists’ hits at a local club near her home in Queens, NY.
Meri’s formal music training continued at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, where she met her future co-producer David Porter. An accomplished musician in his own right, Porter has worked and collaborated with numerous musical groups and performers including the legendary Aerosmith and pop/soul performer Nona Hendryx.
In the years since, Meri toured throughout the United States and Europe, appearing at concert halls, festivals and clubs, garnering international and national airplay and press.
Her first commercial recording, a five-song EP entitled “I'm Not Gonna Say I Told You So,” attracted significant attention and prompted her to return to writing and producing music for film, television and multimedia. In 1999, just before the release of “Time Will Tell,” she signed a deal with label/co-publisher Aquatarius Music Ltd.
Lisa Meri presently resides in the Boston area. For additional information about Lisa Meri and her music, visit her official website www.lisameri.com.
