Helpme2helpyou.com enables users to either ask for or offer help in any given topic or category. Users can post help requests and offers of help for anything, in any location, in any topic. Whether that help be a question that needs answering, the answer to that question, advice sought and offered or physical help of any nature. The creators invite you to start asking for and offering help today. The service is free today and will remain so, for ever.
New users can scan through all the help requests and are asked to register if they wish to help. The purpose of registration for helpers and helpees as the sites users will be known is to protect people’s anonymity and to that end the site handles the initial communication between helpers and helpees. The website is currently launching in the 50 US states but it’s creators plan to expand the concept globally if they can find sufficient demand and additional development funds.
Users are expected to be and invited to be individuals, groups, churches and charities. Whether it be simply getting the answer to the question about that tune in your head or whether your request is answered and someone comes and holds your ladder for you the concept is the same: What goes around comes around. The brainchild of Richard and Nancy Stocks, new residents in Norcross, Georgia and built on a shoestring budget by a friend of theirs in the UK, Mike Busson, helpme2helpyou.com is a global community service website. “I was thinking of how to find the right kind of people to help me with some business ideas I had formulated when the problem of how to repay them for helping me arose.” states Richard. “I wanted to find a way to help them for helping me and boom! The idea hit me. Helpme2helpyou.com was born”
He ran the idea past his wife Nancy and she agreed that the idea was good and pure of thought and had to remain free. “but I have no internet skills and neither does Richard” she says, so they persuaded their good friend Mike to fly out from England and sit with them for a week of late evenings as they brainstormed the idea and designed their original site. “It was really tough” said Mike, “they both work during the day, so I was left alone each day building what I could until we regrouped each evening to review and enhance. Their passion for the project is infectious and I am now completely hooked on what they are trying to achieve.”
