850 The Buzz and 620 The Bull Accept Canes’ Coach Peter Laviolette’s Challenge To Wipe Out Blood Cancer

Raleigh, N.C. – June 30, 2006 – Sports Radio 850 The Buzz (WRBZ) and 620 The Bull (WDNC) have accepted Carolina Hurricanes Coach Peter Laviolette’s challenge to wipe out blood cancers. Many members of the WRBZ and WDNC air staff will be in attendance this Thursday night, June 29th at Gino Russo’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant in Raleigh for a special fundraiser to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern North Carolina. 620 The Bull morning host Morgan Patrick will broadcast live from 6pm-8pm on WRBZ, while Adam Gold, Chris Clark, Joe Ovies, Gordon Miller, and David Glenn guest bartend. Gino Russo’s, located at 6204 Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina will host the event and donate 10% of that evenings dinner sales. Representatives from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern North Carolina will be on hand accepting donations and sell the “Relentless” rubber wristbands that became so popular during the Carolina Hurricanes victorious Stanley Cup run. There will be a silent auction for autographed Hurricanes memorabilia including Eric Staal, Cam Ward, and Rod Brind’ Amour .
