American Hero, Bob “Mr. Inspiration” Wieland Visits Detroit In Support Of America’s Veterans: July 3rd to July 5th

CINCINNATI OH – The Foundation for American Veterans is proud to announce the upcoming Detroit visit of American Hero, Bob “Mr. Inspiration’ Wieland from July 3rd to July 5th, in support of America’s Veterans. Bob will be available to the public at “The Moving Wall”, a half size replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. He will also meet veterans and close with a speaking engagement which promises to be inspirational to every one.
In 1969, Bob Weiland’s life could have been considered a tragedy because he stepped on a mortar round in Vietnam and lost both legs. Instead his life reflects an uplifting account of his will and determination that serves as an inspiration.
Bob Wieland is a world renowned speaker and author whose motto of encouragement and strength is “Always remember; it is too soon to quit.” Bob is best known for his courageous Walk Across America on his hands which took 3 years, 8 months and 6 days. People Magazine honored Bob as one of the six ‘Most Amazing Americans’ in the past twenty years.

About Bob Wieland
The NFL Players Association in conjunction with the Jim Thorpe Foundation presented Bob with the National Award for Courage. He is a former strength and motivational speaker for the Green Bay Packers. He is a four time record holder in the bench press with a best lift of five-hundred and seven pounds. He has competed in the New York, Los Angeles, and Marine Corp Marathons. Bob is the only double amputee to complete the grueling Ironman Triathalon Course in Kona, Hawaii.
Bob has hosted his own talk show: Beating the Odds on Sports Channel America. He is a faculty member, outstanding graduate and alumni of California State University, Los Angeles. He is the author of One Step At A Time. He is a former member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. In 1996, he completed a six thousand two-hundred mile bike circuit, twice across America in conjunction with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.
