Charlie Knocks One Out of the SaaS Park: New Configuration Wizard Helps WebApps’ Partners Move Forward

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. —June 28, 2006— WebApps, Inc., a leading provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) that partners with Payroll Service Bureaus, Human Resource Outsourcing Firms, Professional Employer Organizations, and other service-related businesses, announced the creation and limited debut of Charlie, a configuration wizard created to facilitate the software implementation process. As part of his unveiling, Charlie was introduced to six companies of WebApps’ channel of partners in order to collect feedback before he is released to all partners.

The introduction of an implementation tool such as Charlie is relevant in the current economic environment, which is saturated with company mergers and restructuring that often forces downsizing of experienced personnel. A tool like Charlie helps to simplify software usage and makes the transference of information and knowledge much easier because a user is walked through the configuration of the software. There is no need to spend time, energy, and limited resources training someone who is not familiar with the software and teaching them how to tailor it to a specific company’s needs.

The purpose of Charlie is to allow users of WebApps’ time and labor management software to add companies and begin utilizing the software more quickly. Instead of answering questions and solving problems as they arise, Charlie takes all the guesswork out of the beginning steps, which are often the most puzzling, as with any new and unfamiliar software. “Charlie is most helpful in providing step-by-step reminders to set up all necessary ‘rules’ to create new companies,” remarked Dennis H. Stelzer, President of DS Resources, Inc., a partner of WebApps that provides HR management and payroll solutions. “Charlie took away all the questions we would have had.”

With the help of Charlie, users are able to input employee schedules, allocate cost centers, apply pay rules and assign pay periods, among other things. Charlie helps our partners get the most out of the software in the shortest amount of time possible.

About SaaS
The SaaS model is predicated on a one-to-many or multi-client deployment, whereby an application is shared across customers. This centralized approach towards code management reduces implementation, training, and ongoing support time while minimizing business risk for service providers. End-users benefit from single-source accountability that typically leads to a successful software rollout at a lower total cost of ownership. Also commonly known as an On Demand model, customers pay for system usage on a recurring basis for a broad spectrum of applications.
