Ambient and Improvisational Soundscapers Mark Rushton and Jon Harnish to Perform Live

Mark Rushton and Jon Harnish, whose improvisational ambient soundscaping has been heard and downloaded by tens of thousands of listeners worldwide, will be participating in Experiment 2, a noise, audio, and visuals show at the Emerald City Ballroom in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Saturday, July 1st. The showcase starts around 8:30pm and around Rushton & Harnish should be playing by 11pm. Also on the bill is Wisconsin's Hollydrift. Tickets are $7.

Rushton and Harnish plan to perform variations on their musical pieces Winter Wind Chimes, Brine, and Advisory. Studio and other live versions are available via Rushton's podcasts at podcast.markrushton.com or as free MP3s at mp3.markrushton.com.

Mark Rushton uses a computer to mix and arrange pre-determined sets of audio loops. Rushton has released two albums, 2004's The Driver's Companion and 2005's Hum and Drift. Both are available in CD format at BuyIowaArt.com, Amazon.com, and numerous online retailers. Both albums are available in pay digital download format, or as individual tracks, from iTunes and other digital download retailers. Rushton has also released the 121-track "Florilegium: MP3s 2000 to 2003" data CD, along with creating over 20 podcasts and offering up numerous free MP3s.

Jon Harnish plays bass guitar, effects, and provides tempered bass feedback. He has released podcasts via avantanomaly.com featuring a wide variety of music from numerous artists.

Rushton and Harnish also plan to release an album of music later in 2006.
