Marquis Who’s Who is Expanding its Offerings: In Print, Online and even on TV

Marquis Who’s Who, which has been publishing Who’s Who in America since 1899, is pleased to announce several new initiatives:Who’s Who in Asia- Due for publication in December of 2006, Who’s Who in Asia will feature leading figures from a wide spectrum of endeavors. Who’s Who in American Art, now available online- Who’s Who in American Art has been published by Marquis Who’s Who for 26 editions. For the first time ever, the Who’s Who in American Art database, featuring the biographies of over 14,000 artists, critics, curators, administrators, librarians, historians, collectors, conservators, educators, and dealers—everyone who’s anyone in the visual arts in the United States—is available through an online subscription.
An invaluable tool for galleries, museums, researchers, art students and artists, this database is fully-searchable and easy to use.
Who’s Who in America was featured as a category on Jeopardy!- The Who’s Who in America category debuted on the June 16th broadcast of Jeopardy!. Drawing on Who’s Who in America’s long and fabled history (the first edition was published in 1899), Jeopardy! featured a series of answers and questions taken from the 107-year history of the book. Plans are underway already for the next season of Jeopardy!, where the Who’s Who theme will be expanded to include Who’s Who answers/questions in a variety of fields.
While there are many imitators on the market, Who’s Who in America remains the industry’s standard bearer. When it came time to bury the Millennium time capsule at the White House in 2000, Who’s Who in America was included as a snapshot of the most important and influential people in America at the dawn of the new millennium.
