London – Wotif.com ( www.wotif.com ), one of Europe’s leading discounted accommodation websites, has revealed its top tips for fans wanting to experience the World Cup excitement in Germany. Football fans might assume that they are as likely to find accommodation and tickets for matches as Ronaldo is of missing a meal. But with teams for the sharper end of the competition still unknown, tickets are still available on sites such as e-Bay for the quarter finals (around £400+ for 4) and through some official agents.
Although not every fan will be lucky enough to score a ticket, football lovers can still savour the special atmosphere in the German host cities, by joining in the thousands of revellers flocking to the city centres to just to celebrate their sides’ victories.
“Many fans have excluded the option of going to host cities because they think that accommodation may be a problem”, commented Wotif.com’s UK General Manager, Matt Harris.
“But since FIFA released one million room nights just weeks before kick off, Wotif.com has been fortunate to secure hotel rooms for many of the important games, including the finals on 9 July, which means that if you had your heart set on going to Germany for the World Cup, now is your big chance”.
Wotif.com’s bookings have soared in Germany – up 80% from June last year and, as the accommodation website still has rooms available in Frankfurt, Munich and Berlin on match dates, it’s easy to see why.
On 30 June in Berlin for the Quarter Final 1, looking likely to be Germany v Argentina, a variety of 3, 4 and 5 star hotels are available, with double rooms starting from EUR105. A good range of rooms are also available in Frankfurt for the Quarter Final 4 in Frankfurt on 1 July, which punters are predicting will be Brazil v Spain, with double rooms starting from EUR200, including breakfast.
And for the finals in Berlin, a range of room types are available from EUR170 for a twin / double room. Groups and families can also make use of the 5 bedded rooms available in central Berlin for EUR320.
