The Scientology Volunteer Ministers India Goodwill Tour has completed delivering a six-week training program to staff in two major Calcutta hospitals. Hearing from the Director of Nursing of the Vivekananda Hospital in Calcutta about the success her nurses had with the application of L. Ron Hubbard's assist technology, the Director of Nursing of B.M. Birla Heart Research Centre invited the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour to give seminars to all those responsible for training nursing staff in both B.M. Birla and the Calcutta Research Medical Institute.
Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard [http://lron.hubbard.org/]. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing. Assists are used to alleviate stress and physical aches and pains, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment.
The Director of Nursing, Mrs. Gopan was eager to implement assists, which she saw as a needed spiritual component in healing.
For six weeks in February and March of 2006, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers Goodwill Tour held seminars for the nine nursing teachers, bringing them to a full level of competence in administering the assists that are described in the Scientology Handbook. The seminar included hands-on work with patients, supervised by the Volunteer Ministers.
At the graduation, the hospital presented the Scientology Volunteer Ministers [http://www.volunteerministers.org]with a plaque, which states: "In appreciation of his gift to humanity we acknowledge L. Ron Hubbard for the Scientology Assist technology, now in widespread use by our staff throughout our hospitals, which is alleviating suffering. We thank you. We consider you as a true friend."
