Thomson Vet Named V.P. of Platform Engineering at HandHeld Entertainment

SAN FRANCISCO– HandHeld Entertainmentä (OTC BB: HNDH), maker of the ZVUE™ family of mass-market portable media players, today announced that it has named Gene O’Donnell as its vice president of platform engineering.

Prior to joining HandHeld Entertainment, O’Donnell was most recently the director of advanced displays for TTE Corporation, a $3 billion subsidiary of TCL International which was formed in 2004 as a joint venture between TCL (HKSE: 1070) and Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS) as a world leading television and DVD manufacturing company. During his 20-plus years in the high-tech field, O’Donnell served in a variety of management and product development roles at Thomson for 18 years between 2004 and 1987. While at Thomson, O’Donnell led the team that delivered the company’s first micro-display HDTVs to the marketplace, in addition to driving the development of three Thomson products which were recognized as “Best of What’s New” by Popular Science.

O’Donnell received his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisville. In addition, O’Donnell has also been recognized as the lead or co-inventor on nine patents granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
