Apex Law Group Donates to Friends of the Family Golf Tournament

Executives at Maryland-based Apex Law Group, LLC, announced today their sponsorship for the Friends of the Family’s Ninth Annual Golf Tournament to benefit toddlers and infants of high-risk families in Maryland.

As a Hole Sponsor, the firm’s name will be displayed at one of the golf course’s 18 holes.

“We are delighted to give our support to this worthwhile cause,” said Nathaniel Burney, director of legal affairs for Apex Law Group. “Friends of the Family has proved itself to be a valuable and effective organization and we look forward to participating in this event.”

Tournament participants, many of whom are repeat sponsors, compete in groups of four for the Family Cup. While all can join the general tournament, Friends of the Family simultaneously hosts a Women’s Division in an effort to encourage more women involvement.

“This contribution is especially appreciated because this tournament is our main fundraising event,” said Margaret Williams, executive director of Friends of the Family. “And our sponsors appreciate the fact that we spend about 96 percent of all of the money we raise directly on community-based programs.”

The tournament will be held at Beechtree Golf Club in Aberdeen, MD on June 13, 2006. Registration for the event which includes lunch begins at 10:30 and the tournament is scheduled to start at 12:30 followed by cocktails, dinner and the award ceremony.
