Kenosha, WI (June 21, 2006) The Bristol Renaissance Faire, one of the Midwest’s most popular summer attractions, has announced the musical acts for their Trader’s Cove stage. Three groups, each performing for three weekends and encompassing traditional Scottish, West African drum and dance, and Japanese drumming will headline at the Faire’s biggest music stage.

Leading off the musical festivities and performing July 8-9, July 15-16, and July 22-23, is Tartanic. Based in Houston, Texas, the four-member Tartanic performs traditional and innovative Celtic music from Scotland, Ireland and Brittany with a mix of world percussion from Arabia, Africa, and America. The result is a fusion of musical conventions and the results are explosive as lead member Adrian Walter runs, reels and romps across the stage to the accompaniment of two bagpipes and drums. Founded in 2001, the group utilizes a full array of instrumentation including the highland bagpipes, bombard, biniou kozh, bohdran, tupan, doumbek, darbuka and various other percussion instruments. Tartanic has released the CD “Untraditional,” which aptly demonstrates their passion for the unconventional.

Le Ballet Ivoire Spectacle performs on the Trader’s Cove Stage July 29-30, August 5-6, and August 12-13. Recognized as an exciting drum and dance troupe that showcases the traditional culture, movement and music of West Africa’s Ivory Coast, the group is currently headquartered in the Orlando, Florida area where they perform five times a day in the Harambe Village of the Animal Kingdom. Le Ballet Ivoire Spectacle was founded by Seguenon Kone who has more than 25 years of experience as a musician, performer and choreographer and was most recently seen touring with Jimmy Buffet.

Kaiju Daiko, performing August 19-20, August 26-27 and September 2-4 on the Bristol Renaissance Faire’s Trader’s Cove Stage, are a dynamic drum ensemble who has studied traditional Japanese taiko drumming both in Asia and the United States. The eight-member group has performed throughout the Midwest and Chicago areas at such venues as the Chicago Jazz Festival, the Beverly Arts Center, the Evanston Ethnic Arts Festival and the Midwest Drum and Dance Festival.
