Wyland offers a personal meet and greet in his home gallery on Laguna Beach

(PRLeap/NorthEast PR) – California - June 22nd, 2006: When asked to name something that is seen by nearly one billion people a year in over 30 countries and is easily recognized as belonging to its source; most people respond with something spiritual, something magnanimous or something environmental. The truth be told, the answer to this question relates to all three of the popular responses. The art of Wyland is born of a spiritual passion that is clearly obvious in his life sized Whaling Wall paintings and it truly captures the expression of the environment he represents in each work. Those easily recognized pieces are just the surface of Wyland’s wealth of artistic expression.

His life history and artwork timeline are available to peruse anytime at www.wyland.com but a rare opportunity for art fanatics and environmentally aware people comes to Laguna Beach, California on July 8th. You can join Wyland at his home gallery for a VIP showing of his art. Wyland’s home gallery features his amazing brush art, abstracts, deep colorful oil based paintings and original sculptures that seem to come to life before your eyes. Built into his home gallery is a fantastic aquarium alive with multi-colored fish that blend naturally into the landscape of works that line the gallery walls. From the front door facing the South Coast Highway to the rear balcony overlooking Laguna Beach, Wyland’s home gallery is a clear depiction of his passions and dreams. The event takes place from 6pm - 10pm but patrons can arrive early to appreciate the art currently displayed. Before the event you can stroll along the beach or the boardwalk sampling from a fine array of ready to purchase coffee and snacks available just beside the gallery entrance.

As posted in Wyland’s gallery handouts, attendees can meet Wyland in person and witness a live painting during the event. To be sure the events don’t overbook it is recommended that you call the gallery offices at their respective telephone numbers, as listed below, to receive specific details or to RSVP your attendance.

In-person gallery events happen throughout the year at various gallery locations and dates and times are posted on the Wyland website. Your inclusion at a gallery event benefits the goals of Wyland’s personal foundation. The Wyland Foundation serves to promote the awareness of environmental issues and the need to respect the Earth’s ocean resources. In an effort to raise public awareness to the need for attention to ocean life, Wyland has vowed to paint 100 life sized Whaling Walls around the world by 2011 and he has completed 84 of them to date. Locations and a descriptive history of each wall are available on his website.

Wyland’s artwork is available for purchase either ordered by way of his website at www.wylandgalleries.com or directly through a gallery. Alongside his paintings are offered an amazing selection of pieces cast in Lucite, sculpted in bronze and acrylic, wrapped around mirrors and constructed as intricate three dimensional objects. His website gallery also features amazing under sea photography and collectable Wyland/Disney artwork as created when the genius of Wyland teamed up with the studios of Walt Disney. The result is a series of masterpieces for the young and young at heart. While some pieces are in limited supply, most of what is featured on the gallery website is obtainable by anyone for their personal collection.

Listed here are the posted events for the month of July, but the event on the 8th at Laguna Beach promises to be something special. At the time of writing this, I was told Wyland was upstairs in that very gallery creating new works for the event. I hope you will all join me there for the unveilings and a fine cup of coffee with Wyland himself in his personal seaside environment, under an amazing Whaling Wall on Laguna Beach.
