PROMAX MUSE ARTIST GOES TO SPACE

Eileen Borgeson, the Promax Muse creator, has produced two more Industry Icons: the Space Tourism Industry’s ‘Dennis Tito’ Award, AKA, the ‘Orbital Muse’, and the Holographic ‘Orbit Award’, conceptualized by Jeff Allen, Holographics.com.

Presented by the National Space Society and the Space Tourism Society at the 25th International Space Development Conference, last month, the ‘Orbit’ Award’s most notable recipients included: Dr. Buzz Aldrin, Burt Rutan, Sir Richard Branson, Paul Allen, Robert Bigelow, The Ansari Family, X Prize Foundation, Eric C. Anderson and Zero Gravity.

Since its debut at the historic ‘Orbit Awards’ event, Eileen’s, ‘Orbital Muse’ just may have become, overnight, the new Space Tourism Industry Icon. Receiving the 24” gold and silver ‘Orbital Muses’ at this energized launch of the Space Tourism Industry were the first private Space Travelers, Dennis Tito, Mark Shuttleworth, and Dr. Gregory Olsen. Both awards were sponsored by E Art Gallery, Saxton Industrial and Interior Systems.

In addition to the 25th anniversary of the National Space Society, the event commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Space Tourism Society and the 5th anniversary of Dennis Tito’s flight as the first private citizen to buy a ticket to space and spend a week vacationing on the International Space Station.

Now that the ten million dollar Ansari X-Prize has been won by Scaled Composites with their SpaceShipOne, the Space Tourism Industry is being more actively pursued. Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic has already sold tickets for suborbital flights in 2008 on a fleet of commercial SpaceShipOnes being built. Space Adventures is also booking flights for suborbital flights along with their International Space Station destination flights. Spaceports are being built and space hotels are being readied by Robert Bigelow and Tsuyoshi Saotome

Eileen has been creating fine art ‘Icons’ for much of her career. Her ‘Classic’ Promax Muse has become one of the most successful award icons of our time. Referred to as the ‘Muse of Creativity’, the sculpture resulted from three makeovers she did beginning in 1992 with Promax’s original ‘Gold Medallion’ award in acrylic. For a decade, thousands of Muse Awards have been given. In 2005 alone, nearly two thousand recipients received the Muse in various global award ceremonies, including: North America, Asia, Australia, Europe, Japan, Latin America, UK, Arabia, Russia, Australia and Africa. June 22nd, more Muse winners will be added at Promax’s New York Conference and Awards Show.

Other examples of Eileen’s ‘iconic’ art pieces include: B. B. Kings ‘Lucille’, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, Disney’s ‘Steamboat Willie’, Warner Bros. ‘Looney Tunes’ characters, Erte’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and Aerosmith’s crystal bowl. All can be viewed on E Art Gallery’s online gallery at www.EileenBorgeson.com.
