Just The Funny Improv Comedy Theatre Company presents Director's Cut

“Lights, Camera, Improv!”
Miami, FL – Miami is in for a treat with the world premiere of Just The Funny’s new improv comedy show, Director’s Cut, presented by JUST THE FUNNY, Miami’s Home for Improv and Sketch Comedy. Director’s Cut is the show where the actors take a non-comedic movie, in this case the 1983 classic SCARFACE , including its' characters, plots and settings, and change everything based on audience suggestions and then improvise the whole movie! Director’s Cut takes place at 11:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at the Miami Museum of Science and Planetarium.

The premiere show of Director’s Cut will wildly recreate the cult classic SCARFACE (Al Pacino, Steven Bauer, Michele Pfeiffer), but with one major twist, the audience will provide suggestions, including random generic plotlines, new characters, and more. The input provided by the audience will drive and inspire Just The Funny’s crack cast of improv actors to create a one-of-a-kind version of SCARFACE, cheesy accents, music montages and all. The JTF crew is sparing no expense in the production of the show, as they will have a full wardrobe and prop department to draw from, including Tony Montana’s signature drug-pin suit and “little friend” machine gun.

Don’t know the movie? Don’t worry. Just The Funny will be airing the actual SCARFACE trailer at the beginning of the show, to ensure that the audience will get an idea what Hollywood thought Miami used to be like in the 80’s.

Sounding off on Director’s Cut, Just The Funny actor David Christopher had this to say about why the new show was created, “We love SCARFACE, our audience regulars love our SCARFACE sketch that we do ‘Tony Montana’s Little Friends Summer Camp’, so we thought let’s give them the whole movie, only based on what they want to see, oh and totally improvised!”

Tickets for Director’s Cut are $5.00 (the 11 pm show); and tickets for the preceding The Big Show (9 pm show) $10.00 (Free for students w/ID); or $12.00 for both shows, and can be purchased at www.justthefunny.com or at the theatre.
