Mark Rushton's Ambient/Electronica CDs Are Now Available on BuyIowaArt.com

Mark Rushton's latest commercial music release, Hum And Drift, as well as his 2004 CD, The Driver's Companion, are now available via the Iowa Art Council's BuyIowaArt.com web site.

Hum And Drift was recorded at East Highlands Studio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and features a range of instrumental music from the meditative ambience of "The Hum Of Antique Machines" and "National Championship" to rhythmic electronica in pieces like "Minus Eleven" and "Blizzard Symphony."

"Hum And Drift" also finds a way to blend acoustic instruments and sounds with electronic influences, such as the multi-layered field recordings within "Movement", the orchestra-meets-electronics of "A Gift Of Life", and the electronically-processed acoustic guitars and orchestrations of "Sunday's Drift."

The Driver's Companion was also recorded at East Highlands Studio in Cedar Rapids and was released in 2004. The CD features electronica, but there's acoustic and electric guitars throughout. It has rock moments, but there are atmospherics and classical instrumentation. It's ambient in places, yet there's also hip-hop and avant-garde influences on various tracks. The CD was mastered by Jon Chamberlain at Catamount Recording in Cedar Falls and manufactured by MVP Studios in Cedar Rapids. Tracks have been played on KUNI-FM, SomaFM.com, XM Satellite Radio and other radio stations in the US and Canada.

Rushton says he's very happy with offering his CDs through BuyIowaArt.com and will hope that fans in the United States will purchase through this portal.

When a buyer purchases artwork featured in BuyIowaArt.com, the IAC receives the order. A credit check is completed and the artist or agent who sponsors the artwork on the site is notified to fill the order. When the artist/agent fulfills the order, they notify the IAC that the order has been fulfilled and the IAC completes the credit card transaction.
