Wheels For Humanity (http://www.wheelsforhumanity.org) hosted its 5th Annual Spirit of Movement Awards on 10 June 2006. The non-profit organization awarded Colours Wheelchair (http://www.ColoursWheelchair.com) "the Freedom of Mobility Award". David Richard, founder of Wheels for Humanity said "Colours Wheelchair, an innovative company producing state of the art custom wheelchairs, has donated hundreds of wheelchairs to assist people world-wide".

David Richard started Wheels for Humanity in 1996. Since then, he and his team have provided restored wheelchairs to over 31,000 people in more than 61 countries. Colours Wheelchairs supports Wheels For Humanity's efforts by providing wheelchairs, know-how, spare parts and many hours of volunteer time fitting and servicing wheelchairs.

John Box, president of Colours Wheelchair said, "we are pleased to help Wheels for Humanity to provide mobility to people with disabilities without regard to political affiliation, religious belief or ethnic identity. In fact, this award truly belongs to Colours Wheelchair Owners around the world. It is only due to their loyalty and support that we have been able to support Wheels for Humanity. Every wheelchair that we sell in developed countries, such as the USA and Europe, helps us to assist Wheels for Humanity in their effort to provide wheelchairs to disabled people in under-developed countries."
