Finland Star, Gary Revel Jr. in Eurovision Song Contest

The first American in history to win the Finland Star Crown in 2002, Gary Revel Jr., will be on YLE television in Finland on February 4, 2005. He is one of 24 semi-finalists in the Finnish National Finals of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. He will be singing the song 'Your A Star' (Mika Toivanen, 'music' and Steven Stewart, 'lyrics') for his 3rd Eurovision Song Contest participation.

Gary was born in Nashville, Tennessee and grew up in Hollywood and Los Angeles, California. He received his first standing ovation at 9 years of age playing the Wiz in the 'Kids Of The Century's' City of Los Angeles Cutural Affairs Production of the 'Wiz' in the early 1980s. He went to Hamilton Music Academy in his teens then trained in Los Angeles and New York City before moving to Finland. He is currently performing the role of Thuy in 'Miss Saigon' in Helsinki, Finland and is scheduled for a role in the upcoming production of 'Hair Spray' when 'Miss Saigon' wraps.
