Kids aren’t the only ones who get to race canoes, shoot bows and arrows, hike, swim, and enjoy S’mores around the campfire. Women also flock to camp. The attraction beyond the standard? Massages, facials, manicures, Feminars, knitting, scrapbooking, chatting for hours with friends, even napping – AND no makeup, no cooking, no chores, no laundry, no stress at Camp GetAway, California’s camp retreat for women. Women from 25 to 75 have found a slice of heaven called “Camp GetAway.”
Campers arrive in desperate need of a little R&R grown-up gal style, whether hiking to a waterfall, hand-feeding birds in a peaceful grotto, working on “personal discovery collages,” competing in canoe tournaments, tie dying, practicing yoga, enjoying a therapeutic massage, voraciously reading or engaging in youthful horseplay.
In 2006, Camp GetAway is celebrating its tenth year providing much-deserved “me time” in the mountains near Big Bear, Southern CA.
Camp GetAway’s next weekend is October 6-8. Cost is $295 per camper, plus additional modest fees for craft supplies and spa treatments.
