New anti-cyber crime qualification launched

Specialist cyber crime fighters SSRI, and their European partners, are launching training materials from The International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council®) which prepare students to achieve Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) status. The ESCA qualification represents the next step for IT and information security professionals who have already achieved the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.

“While CEH exposes the learner to hacking tools and technologies, ECSA takes it a step further by focusing on the analytical phase of ethical hacking, exploring how to analyse the outcome from these tools and technologies, and examining more technically advanced concepts and practices,” explained SSRI’s Rajive Kapoor. “Using the latest penetration testing methods and techniques, ECSA classes help students to perform the intensive assessments required to identify and mitigate risks to the security of the infrastructure.”

SSRI programmes are delivered via 38 delivery locations throughout Europe in association with its group of European partners including Training Camp, IT Security Training, Net security, BT Britannia and ASG training in the UK; New Horizons (locations in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Dortmund), Train & Consult, and Training Camp in Germany; Upgrade and GED Systemes in France; New Horizons and GKN in the Netherlands and Denmark.

According to Robert Chapman, founder and CEO of Training Camp, one of SSRI’s partners in delivering both CEH and ESCA training: “Most security certifications highlight the management or technical aspects of ethical hacking. However, the ECSA curriculum is designed so that professionals can detect the causes of security lapses and understand what implications they carry for management.
