ACS Young Journalists, Inc. announces its six-week summer journalism camp and second mobilized workshop. ACSYJ provides hands on experience for a diverse and minority group of youth learners through education, literacy & media production. We offer our participants resources and skill development for careers in print media.

Youth Journalism Camp - ACSYJ mission is to educate youth in the field of communication and to encourage minority and diverse youth to consider a career in print media.


The program allows youth the opportunity to try-out newspaper and online journalism by writing and reporting their own stories. ACSYJ is accepting applications for the Youth Journalism Camp, ages 13 and up, to be held at New Carrollton Library, 7414 Riverdale Road, New Carrollton. Journalism Workshop

(Bowie, MD) – June 24th & July 1st


ACSYJ provide workshops at several different locations within the Washington-Metropolitan area. We provide mobilized workshops to enable youth from divers areas that are outside of our facility location to participate in the programs.


Two day workshop full of fun learning skills for youth ages 13 and up, to be held at Karibu Books, 15624 Emerald Way, Bowie, MD 20716.

ACSYJ programs aim to provide a positive environment for the youth by: creating fundamental life experiences and learning opportunities; serving as a primary prevention strategy against substance abuse, gangs and other risk behaviors; building youths' confidence and self-esteem through teamwork and community recognition; and helping youths develop effective communication and leadership skills.
